04/06/2008 Zita Openair gig is back on - UPDATE

We have previously announced that we would not be playing the Zita Pop Open Air festival in Berlin. The problems have now been resolved as the show WILL take place. We apologise for any inconvenience to fans but this was an unusually difficult situation. The details are:

24/01/2008 The Shop Is Open!!
The shop is open for business! We have decided to use PayPal as payment. We will of course continue to take international money orders or UK cheques but this should be coordinated with Val through orders@mesh.co.uk. If you get any problems with the redirection of the checkout to PayPal (happens on rare occasions) then submit the order as normal and pay with PayPal afterwards to paypal@mesh.co.uk . We will confirm the order via email and ship as soon as the payment has cleared.

We've currently got stock of the limited DVD's and some new 'peaked beanies' as well as glow tour shirts and skinni's. We also have some stock of singles of which most are very difficult to get hold of. The stock counter is not working at present - basically if it's not in stock we'll remove it but things are moving out the door pretty quick - get them while you can.

Happy new year everyone.
Just thought we'd post something up to let you know what's going on. Obviously the DVD is out and still selling well. We've had some great feedback so thanks for that. We are currently in the process of lining up some shows too - we can tell you now that so far we have:

We'll give you more definite details nearer the time. We are also hoping to play in Spain in May and The Whitby Goth Festival in October - confirmation as soon as we know.

We are hoping to have some news on new business partnerships this year which are very excited about. More on this soon.

I will be starting the podcast releases again very soon once I get back from holiday after next week - I've been having PC and network issues which are now sorted and Christmas and New Year and all that other good stuff have got in the way.

In the studio at the moment of course - this is our main work for this year. We are actually finishing off a remix for Bruderschaft, the collective led by DJ Rexx Arkana and features Tom Shear of Assemblage 23 fame on vocals. We will be back to work on the album after next week.

The shop is now open. We've got some more stuff on the way but we're stocked up pretty well for now. Paypal only now - Worldpay was getting too difficult to manage. All debit and credit cards accepted although your feedback on these matters is always appreciated.

We are reliably informed that the DVD pre-orders are already at 2500 plus out of 3000. Without the risk of sounding like a snake-oil salesman, Music Non-Stop are taking pre-orders where it's been the top selling product for a couple of weeks now. You can also order them through Major Records. Get them while you can and before you can't....

I've been tidying up files and backing stuff up this week and came across the old 'involved' site. The best bit was always the 'mesh computers' section. It gave us many happy hours. As mesh computers plc have stopped paying us for a referral link, it's time it was brought back I think. Click on 'involved' above. Enjoy.

The second podcast is now up in video format only. It's not really news as such, just a short film on our weekend at Barking Dog Studios in Bristol where myself, Rich, Shaun and Geoff were there practicing for the upcoming shows. You can subscribe using the RSS links on this page above, or go to http://netshow.inetc.net/mesh-co-uk/ for a listing of all of the shows so far. I've no plans to upload an audio show for this because of the nature of the material. I'm about to update the BigContact feed now, but might take a couple of hours to come through.

Incidentally the mesh podcast now appears in iTunes. Just search for mesh in the podcast directory. We have had over 3000 unique listens and downloads from the stats on BigContact, but we suspect that most of the downloads are now coming from our own RSS feed (which we currently don't get stats on), so that is extremely good news - thanks to everyone who's taken an interest.

There was an issue at BigContact with the podcast and as a result it's been offline all day and the feed player's been 'a bit weird'. As with all these things, if you want something done, you had probably best do it yourself. Of course, once you have done it yourself, the problem goes away.....

Anyway, I've built some XML code and moved the feed to our streaming server and it seems faster on download. There is also more information in the notes. I'm going to leave the BigContact site running for now and will probably run with both for a while as the stats are pretty good at BC.

The iTunes links will automatically subscribe you so watch it if you're borrowing your Grandmothers modem.

Note: The video podcast is longer than the audio because I cut a couple of bits out that didn't really work without the video.

In January 2007, Mesh toured five German cities as headliners for the "elektrisch!" festivals. The gig at the Kulturfabrik, Krefeld, brought this extraordinary tour to a successful close, and will now be released on DVD.

Mesh swept along their audience with an energetic performance and an interesting setlist. Songs from the current album "We Collide" alternate with classics such as "People Like Me (With This Gun)". The changeful moods are underlined by video projections in the background, creating an impressive atmosphere, especially for contemplative tracks like "Room With A View". But a Mesh concert is always good for simply having a party, which is guaranteed by such powerful songs as "Step By Step" or "This Is What You Wanted".

The new live DVD also features extensive bonus material, including backstage and studio footage. The faithful Mesh community has been waiting long for such a DVD that holds up the memories of a great evening – and those who never attended a Mesh concert are now able to catch up on what they have missed.

The first 2000 DVDs will be released as a numbered limited edition, including the whole concert on 2 extra audio CDs. The price for this limited edition is 19,90 Euro (plus shipping). Currently the artwork gets its final polish, but the tracklisting is set already (see below). 02/10/2007 LIVE DVD - the Live DVD will now be released in November after a few 'issues' for which we apologise. These problems have made everything very late . It will be released by Major Records in what we are hoping will be the start of a new chapter in mesh's career. It will be released first as a limited edition of 2000 numbered discs and will also include the full concert as a double CD. These initial 2000 will only be available mail order. After that the normal release will be available from shops which will not contain the concert CD's. We'll give you more on this when we have the information - preorders will be possible.

02/10/2007 VIDEO PODCAST - We are experimenting with various ways of getting news out to people and generally trying to stay in touch while we record new material. We've decided to try posting periodic podcasts starting with video because it's easier for now, but an audio one will follow time allowing.
